Susan Black-Beth Receives Crystal Compass Honor
Susan E. Black-Beth, CFE, chief operating officer of Super Wash, Inc. will receive the International Franchise Association’s Women’s Franchise Committee Crystal Compass. The Crystal Compass honors a franchise executive for outstanding leadership and is bestowed during the association’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas.
Along with being a Certified Franchise Executive, Black-Beth has worked to promote franchising among women and has helped to foster the community of women in franchising as past chairwoman of the IFA’s Women’s Franchise Committee. She is the recipient of the IFA Bonny LeVine Award that recognizes mentoring women. Her views and passion on finding innovative and practical ways to access credit and improve franchisor-franchisee relationships have been heard in such venues as IFA’s first Small Business Lending Summit, Franchise CEO Roundtable in Chicago and IFA Annual Conventions. She currently serves as a member of the IFA Board of Directors, the FranPAC President’s Council and Franchisor Forum Advisory Board.
Black-Beth is the co-founder and past co-chairwoman of the Chicago Women’s Franchise Network and past co-chairwoman for the Strategic Advisory Board of the International Institute for Franchise Education based at Nova Southeastern University.
Prior to assuming the role of COO, Black-Black served as senior vice president and director of franchising since the inception of the Super Wash franchise program in November 2000. In her current role, she is responsible for the relationships with the franchisees of 150 locations, the operations of 155 company-managed facilities, franchise development and transfers, marketing and social media.
Black-Beth also has experience as a multi-unit franchisee. She graduated cum laude from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill., with a bachelor’s degree, and recently concluded her term as the president of the Augustana Alumni Board of Directors.
She is an inspirational speaker on topics such as: relationship building, leadership, improving franchisee performance and sales and goal-setting. Black-Beth was featured in the January 2011 issue of Franchise Times as one of the “20 to Watch” in 2011.
An individual within the franchising community who epitomizes the ideals of leadership is selected to receive the Crystal Compass. Individuals chosen for this honor have made significant contributions within their respective franchise organizations, the franchise community in general and in their local communities. ⎯
