IFA’s Annual Convention—An Event Like No Other in Franchising
As you join thousands of your franchise peers this month at IFA’s 53rd Annual Convention, you will be taking part in what undoubtedly will be the most important meeting you will attend all year. This year’s convention is the ideal forum to find the solutions you need for your company’s growth plans in the year ahead. The 2013 Convention is filled with content specifically designed for franchisors, franchisees and our dedicated supplier partners to grow and prosper amid the ongoing sluggish economic environment. Our program will keep you abreast of challenges facing our industry and new opportunities that will help us get back to the growth trends we experienced before the recession.
The 2013 Convention will draw some of the industry’s most respected speakers, including Jon Luther, chairman, Dunkin’ Brands and chairman of the board Arby’s International; Steve Romaniello, CFE, managing director of Roark Capital Group and chairman of the board of FOCUS Brands; Steve Joyce, president & CEO, Choice Hotels International; Julia Stewart, CEO, Dine Equity (IHOP/Applebee’s); and Andy Puzder, CEO, CKE Restaurants (Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s); among many others. Experts from the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Commercial Service will provide insights on the latest trends in small-business lending and international trade missions.
IFA’s general sessions offer exciting and compelling programming that meets the wide-ranging needs of our membership. Our opening session will kick off with keynote speaker Condoleezza Rice, 66th Secretary of State of the United States, the second woman and first African-American woman to hold the post, who will share her insights from a highly-successful career in public service. As the faces of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough team up to lead us in a candid discussion about the important political, economic and cultural issues facing America and the global community.
In addition, the convention offers unique and timely educational sessions, roundtables, summits and mini-super sessions designed to give you the latest trends and information in the areas of franchise relations, management/leadership, financing, multi-unit growth, international growth, franchise development, social media and more.
Lastly, the franchise industry’s premier exhibit hall will showcase nearly 200 companies offering state-of-the-art tools and resources that franchise professionals need to grow their business, and our annual “Taste of Franchising” reception will showcase some of the leading and emerging food concepts in franchising today.
New for 2013, IFA’s Franchisee Leadership Summit will provide the tools to tap into unrealized potential in human capital and how to use accountability to improve performance. And convention-goers will once again participate in Franchising Gives Back, contributing to communities by donating time and resources to those in need with a local charity in Las Vegas.
The Convention Committee has done an excellent job filling the program with expert speakers, high-level programming, energizing roundtables and the best networking anywhere. My congratulations to them for making the IFA’s 53rd Annual Convention a must-attend event. As you prepare for this year’s convention, I encourage you to download IFA’s Convention Mobile App to access the sessions, speakers, attendees and hotel information, updated in real-time. I look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas in February and sharing what we hope will be another tremendous IFA Annual Convention.
