Caring Transitions Helps Fraternity Share Information about Alzheimer’s

When new Caring Transitions franchise owner Paula Houston Allen heard that a Univ. of Cincinnati Fraternity was seeking a sponsor for the Alzheimer’s Walk, an idea was born. Caring Transitions of Southeast Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and the 49 members of the university’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter teamed to participate in the October 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Massage Envy Spa Raises Nearly $900,000 for Arthritis Foundation

Massage Envy Spa raised more than $898,000 for the Arthritis Foundation during its third annual Healing Hands for Arthritis event. On Sept. 18, Massage Envy Spa’s 900 franchise locations donated $10 from each one-hour massage and facial. The goal of national event was to raise funds to find a cure for the 50 million adults and 300,000 children affected by arthritis.

Kinderdance Franchisee Joins in Walk for Autism Speaks

Staten Island-area Kinderdance franchisee Doris Velez joined more than 3,000 walkers for the Walk Now for Autism Speaks at the College of Staten Island. The walk, one of many organized nationally, took on a very personal meaning for the Kinderdance franchisee whose son, Matthew, was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. To date, the event has raised more than $285,000 in support of Autism Speaks’ mission to fund research, increase awareness and family services and advocate for individuals with autism and their families.

FISH Feeds Brings Together Franchisees to Fight Hunger

Fish Window Cleaning completed its first nationwide food drive as part of a new, system-wide philanthropic effort called FISH Feeds. In total, 2,257 items were collected and distributed to food banks across the United States. Through FISH Feeds, franchise locations collect and distribute non-perishable food items to food banks and food pantry sites.
